Went on a trip to Costa Rica. A beautiful time. On the way back, the Spirit pilot announces on the tarmac that he needs to return to the gate because 'he forgot to do some paperwork'. OK, strange, but fine. Due to his error, we wind up in Ft. Lauderdale late, and Spirit tells us that they have rebooked our connecting flight on a flight NINE HOURS LATER. That flight is delayed (due to weather), so in the end we need to wait in the airport for 12 hours.

Don't expect stellar service with this airline. And when they mess up, expect terrible customer service. They have cheap fares, but you run the risk of long delays and being treated like a spittoon by their lame excuse for customer service.

I can't wait for them to go bankrupt and for all those Sprint customer service people to lose their jobs.
