Experienced worst customer service, and the MOST unprofessional exchange between a Spirit representative, and a patron. After closing the gate door 15 minutes prior to departure, then disapearing down the ramp, the gate rep returned to the gate 2 minutes before departure, and told 21 customers standing there; that they were all "no shows".

He then proceeded to banter back & forth with one young who dared to express herdispleasure ( she had arrived at the gate approx. 18 minutes before departure and wouldn't accept being deemed a no-show).

The doors will only be closed when all passengers at the gate are boarded. If you are not there, then you are SOL.

They do not just stop in the middle of boarding to close the gate. That is ***.

They were late, plain and simple. It takes a minimum of 20 minutes to get through pre-flight checks, and the doors must be sealed before they begin.

Boarding starts about 45 minutes before a flight leaves, so you actually have about 25 minutes to get your butt on your plane. 15 minutes before the flight left was negligent on the passenger's part.

I actually saw this same event occur in Dallas. There were about 30 passengers who were stranded when the flight was not called.

I was taking an American flight at the next gate and could not believe it. I understand that one person may BS that they arrived on time, maybe 2, but 30 people is absolutely an issue. I have never seen that before ever. And this is the same thing that you are describing.

That tells me no gate controls from the CSR's and that is a big safety issue. I would never believe that this could happen if I did not see it with my own eyes.

Sad and pathetic. This CSR is Atlanta probably did the same thing.

If she truly got there at "18" minutes before departure, why didn't she get on the plane? You admit that he closed the door at "15" minutes before departure.

According to her, she got there before the door closed. What did she do? Stand there and watch people get on the plane without stepping forward.

It is her fault she did not board if she was there prior to the gate being closed. The reality is that she is probably lying about the time that she got there.
