Never in my years of frequent travel, have I ever had such an inferior and disappointing experience. It was a costly error to try Spirit airlines, one which I never intend to make again. Here are bullet points of the extent of poor service and poor everything associated with this airline: *apathetic, disinterested employees who "forgot" my disabled mother was in line to be assisted to her gate. *rude, unresponsive staff members on every single level of service. *disceptive pricing, which infuriating me by the end of the ordeal! What you see is absolutely not what you get! *poorly designed website, which makes it unnecessarily difficult and frustrating to navigate through. * I have not one positive comment to make about this airline, the service, nor the prices. Prepare to feel completely violated by this dishonest, disingenuous, and despicable corporate nightmare of a company. If you choose Spirit, prepare to be treated with absolutely no regard nor care. Do not entrust a loved one who needs assistance. They will charge you and then fail to do the job you paid for, leaving you feeling distressed about the safety, care or consideration of one for whom you are deeply concerned. I feel certain this airline will not make any of their errors right. But if this depiction of the nightmarish fiasco does not make you think twice about the integrity of this airline, at least I warned, "Buyer Beware!" Needless to say, I will never fly this airline. But I will make it my mission in life to share this horrendous experience with all the many travelers I speak to every single day in my line of work.

What skin off Spirit's back is it to issue a gate pass to the mother? It a simple gate pass to get through security and allows the mother to get her kid something to eat before the flight ***.

This costs NOTHING to the airline. That is just flipping *** not to give the lady a simple gate pass. Back in the old days, you could wait at the gate with your family or even meet them at the gate.

The purpose of a gate pass is for TSA security. Why she would not give a gate pass is beyond me it has nothing to do with Spirit, but for security reasons.

Im guessing you were late and did not meet the airlines check in requirements.it is in the terms and conditions you agreed to.and states check in time requirements and failure to do so will result in your ticket being cancelled.they have ever right to then give away your seat to standby or sell your seat.airlines recommend you arrive 2 hours early

I fly approximately 1-2 times a month with Spirit, ONLY because they are inexpensive. The majority of their staff are unprofessional in both appearance and customer service. I understand they are a low cost airline. However, there is no excuse for their employees to be so unprofessional and down right rude. I worked for an airline as a gate and ticket counter agent, so I know how stressful the position can get at times. It seems that this airline does not concern their selves with the basics of customer service and I'm really getting sick of it, I'm not going to renew my membership club with them and I will start paying a higher price to fly another airline, I would rather do that just to receive common courtesy.

Spirit Airlines in Newport, Michigan - Worst airline experience of my life.

One flight is all I will ever take with these extortionists, and I will only take that flight because I prepaid for the ticket with company expense money. Baggage fees equal to 60% of the ticket price, and another fee to select a seat. There was nothing in all of the reservation and purchase process that said customer would have to pay still more in order to select a seat. This million-miler will never ever again make the mistake of dealing with this sham of an airline.

my experience was pure unmitigated torture. each time one hour sitting on runway before ***. I would rather get a root canal done than get on one of their flights. I would drive from l.a. to detroit before flying with this trainwreck. lawn chair non reclining seats where your face is crammed into the person in front of you. in order to reach your carry on purse (reviews show they hijack you for bringing a change of clothes or being one minute late to stand in line for an hour) you have to stick your face in your neighbors crotch based on the sardine can seating. no ventilation, no reclining seats, no arm rest...if you werent claustrophobic before you fly with them you will be when you get off...hellish...excuse for sitting on runway one hour was that somebody stole one of the seatbelts? thirsty? have a coke credit card only for 4 bucks

SPIRIT AIRLINE KNOWS HOW TO KEEP PEOPLE FROM CHEATING. As the other commentator said, the frequent flier number belongs to one person.

When you buy a ticket for the child and put the mother's frequent flyer number on it, this appears to be a deliberate attempt by the mother to get frequent flyers miles for herself without flying. Was this what she was doing? Why would the mother's frequent flyer number be put on the ticket but for this purpose? To stop this, all airlines kick back the ticket in the name of the frequent flier.

Yes Spirit Airlines is ruthless against people who try to game the system and those people who have no integrity when trying to get frequent flier mileage off the flights of others.

This is the customer's fault for not reading the terms of the ticket they were buying, before doing so. It is hard to blame a company for the customer's failure to do due diligence.

This is something the customer knew, since one is required to check that they have read the terms of the ticket before they can buy. To claim otherwise means the customer lied when they bought the ticket.
