I had a flight booked to return home to Detroit, MI from Panama City, Panama with one stop in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This flight was scheduled for Wednesday September 4, 2019.

Hurricane Dorian was nearing Florida so Spirit cancelled all flights for this date coming into Fort Lauderdale. The earliest flight I was given for return was for Wednesday September 11, 2019 a whole week later. This is unacceptable so I booked for another airline (Delta). This new flight cost me over $1,100.

one way (Super expensive). So when I get to the airport in Panama I see Spirit did indeed have flights going into Fort Lauderdale on the 4th of September. This debacle is unacceptable. Spirit refused to pay for my new flight.

I will NEVER deal with Spirit again. What a terrible airline!!!

Spirit Airlines in Newark, New Jersey - Customer service is horrific, our flight was delayed 7 times, cancelled at 10 pm, we are seniors that had 2 choices, spend the night in the airport or get a room at airport (MCO)

Had to pay $240. for Hyatt hotel in MCO airport, plus rent a car because we had to land in Atlantic city rather then Newark. Sent letters of complaint and getting no results.

Spirit Airlines - Worst customer service EVER

in 2017 i attempted online to book. had issues online so i called customer service. over an hour and still no successful booking. they managed to get my $59 for membership and when i asked the rep to cancel he said he would. 2 years later i'm charged again after cancelling now for the 3rd time. and they offer -0- refunds so as they charge you and you complain they tell you to cancel AGAIN. Ridiculous scam of a company.

I also give you spirit airline 1 or 0 starts the service is horrible. The 2 flight a little better.

Want to save $$. Pull out all but 2 flight attendants. They don’t care!!!! The service it’s so bad!!’n the sits are horrible can’t be more uncontrollable.

Are you serious? Please tell me this is a joke because if not you are literally the dumbest person on the planet.

First of all, the airlines is NOT responsible because you bumped your own head on the counter. Second, the fees are spelled out clear enough for a toddler to figure them out BEFORE you buy your tickets.

Again...stupidity in the most insane form. Also, I work for the DOT...promise they don't care.

So you bought bags and chose to ignore the clearly spelled out rules Spirit has. Got it.

Also....it's about the easiest thing in the world to add bags to a Spirit flight online....IF you add them before check-in. Which again, is spelled out so insanely clear when you buy your tickets.

Well for one airlines tell you not to pack any medication,car keys or valuables in your checked luggage,just for this reason.I have worked for airlines before(not spirit)and know that if a plane is boarded and it’s the scheduled pushback time,airlines will not get your bag.the only time would be if it were a international flight,luggage can’t be voluntarily separated from the passengers due to security.Or if the bag or the person is causing suspicion.There are 100++ bags(depending on aircraft) and checked bags are counted and distributed for weight.there are 3-4 holds under the plane.And the ground crew have no way to know which one your bag is in.So they literally would have to unload and count each bag until they found yours then reload all the bags and count,then the pilot will have to redo all weight and balance calculations and paperwork.By this time the plane would have most defiantly miss it’s slot for departure.Then the pilot has to get a new clearance and slot.At large busy airports/times when air traffic is high it may take an hour or even longer for a new departure time.Well then passengers miss their connections,then the airline will have to pay for hotel and transportation for everyone who missed the connection.So no they will not unload your your bag.Its not fair to the 100’s of other passengers.they would rather inconvenience one person and have to pay to get your bag delivered.then inconvience 100’s.Im sorry your husband got sick and could not travel but it’s not the airlines problem(as far as the bag)nor is it your fellow passengers.They should have though gotten him medical assistance a call parenedics if medical attention was requested
