I flew Spirit Airlines to Chicago on December 30, 2013 with my return scheduled for Jan. 3, 2014. However due to weather at my destination, NYC, I needed to make a change; but the website will not let me change to a January date. It gives the error message "Please make sure that your returning flight is not earlier than your departing flight."

Apparently the software does not handle year changes correctly. This meant I had to wait forever on hold for the Spirit Airlines reservation phone center. When I finally got put through to an agent she booked the incorrect date from what she told me on the phone. Now there are no seats available on the flights I wanted AND I must pay a change fee to make a change. I must also pay for and extra night at my hotel.
