Paid for trip insurance tried to change my flight to the next day but was told by agent it would be $99, the web site said closer to $300 flight eneded up being over booked and was offered $500 @ the gate to switch to the flight i asked for! Of course just after dropping off my rental car. Just ridiculous, why pay for a service when you dont get it. Very very upset customer

I was complaint about my booking and prices... next to me another woman was crying because some issue about her ticket I’ve decided to cancel everything on the spot and went to AA without any issues I was able to fly, go American!!

Just because united flew doesn’t mean s!$!!.Bad weather happens any where between departure and arrival airport.If the bad weather is along the path your flight is scheduled to take,Then air traffic will reroute flights around this weather which can sometimes be 100s mile,so when rerouting flights around storms there is less airspace to work with So airspace gets congested so the only way to get things back on track is delay or cancel flights,Air traffic control will make the decision usually each airline will have to cancel a certain % of flights that were scheduled to go over that airspace.So you united flight that made it may have been scheduled to take a different route away from the weather or was not one of the flights that was cancelled by air traffic control

You are so very wrong on many levels. Faa requires airlines to carry enough fuel to get to its destination plus 45 min of hold fuel and if at the time the flight is dispatched,there is an alternate airport enough fuel to get to that alternate.Airlines rarely carry more than required for good reason.Fuel= weight.Not only do you not want to add to much exta fuel for takeoff as every aircraft has a max takeoff weight Also weight adds drag and just wastes 1000s of pound of fuel if filling more than needed.Also there is a max landing weight if something goes wrong at takeoff for example loosing an engine after going through checklists and shutting down that engine if needed now you have to fly around for at least 45 mins to burn off fuel.So no Pilots will not add extra fuel unless it is needed.There are regulations pilots and airlines have to follow.And pilots do not decide what airport to divert to that is all up to air traffic control.When weather is bad multiple flights may have to be diverted and the alternate airport may be getting backed up as well so air traffic control will decided to switch airports last minute if needed to relive congestion.The pilot gets no say.And Also no pilot would ever allow you to take a photo of their badge that is actually a crime due to heightened security measures.All the things you have mentioned in your post here happens with EVERY airline.It happens it’s UN luck of the draw when it happens to you and your flight.Some airlines get flights cancelled while at the same time other airlines are still operating to that particular destination.It because when weather is bad there is less airspace to fly through causing congestion and traffic So if air traffic gets so backed up air traffic will order airlines to cancel a certain percentage of flights to/from that destination,So they can get flights back on track.If air traffic orders a delay or cancellation or reschedule or re route IT is mandatory.And sometimes when weather is bad and the flight is diverted it may be cancelled after that for so many reasons..as weather,air traffic,Lack of crew,Lack of ground personnel to check you in and get you on a plane(If you are diverted to an airport in which your airline does not fly in or out of,They wouldn’t have staff there,and yes it happens quit often especially in winter and storm seasons).This would not be an airlines choice.They want to get you where your going not only that but now the aircraft and crew are out of sequence for their next scheduled flights which will lead to more delays and cancellations costing airlines Money

My flight was cancelled. I was informed through email an hour before. All the spirit employees were no help. I waited at the airport an hour before even able to talk to someone. Spirit was the only airline that no employees were present. They lied and said our flight was cancelled due to weather. They were not considerate at all. I asked so many different options. The next flight was the next day, I wasn’t able to do that. I had to go book my flight with another airline and had to pay $600 for one way to return home. This is just sad. This is my first and last time flying with spirit. I hope they get shut down. Worst airline in the world.

I had a flight booked to return home to Detroit, MI from Panama City, Panama with one stop in Fort Lauderdale, FL. This flight was scheduled for Wednesday September 4, 2019.

Hurricane Dorian was nearing Florida so Spirit cancelled all flights for this date coming into Fort Lauderdale. The earliest flight I was given for return was for Wednesday September 11, 2019 a whole week later. This is unacceptable so I booked for another airline (Delta). This new flight cost me over $1,100.

one way (Super expensive). So when I get to the airport in Panama I see Spirit did indeed have flights going into Fort Lauderdale on the 4th of September. This debacle is unacceptable. Spirit refused to pay for my new flight.

I will NEVER deal with Spirit again. What a terrible airline!!!
