I’m sooooo tired! Have been at the airport since 8 am, I just wanted a few days away! Guess what it is 6:18 pm and be are going to board the plane. I could have booked this flight, but I wanted to start my two day vacation early! Well guess what I spent my first day of vacation sitting in the airport JACKED around by spirit! NEVER AGAIN ! I would hitchhike before flying with them again! They should’ve out of business!!!!!

Spirit Airlines in Newport, Michigan - Worst airline experience of my life.

One flight is all I will ever take with these extortionists, and I will only take that flight because I prepaid for the ticket with company expense money. Baggage fees equal to 60% of the ticket price, and another fee to select a seat. There was nothing in all of the reservation and purchase process that said customer would have to pay still more in order to select a seat. This million-miler will never ever again make the mistake of dealing with this sham of an airline.

Spirit Airlines in Alma, Michigan - Abandoned us in Vegas

Guess it could be worse, it might have been Cleveland. Our flight from Detroit to LA for a funeral, $700 tickets, not low cost, took off 2 hours late, arrived in Vegas 10 minutes after our connecting flights. Agent didn't even seemed concerned. Told us that we could get a flight to LA Wednesday night, (it was Monday noon), which means we would miss our Tuesday night return flight. They weren't even sure when we could get a return flight to Detroit. Promised a refund and a call from their accounting dept.All lies. Their CEO is a lying *** too.

Spirit Airlines in Detroit, Michigan - Did not Board us on my Confirm Flight

Spirit Airlines staff did not let me and my son board while I hold a boarding pass, we were at the counter one & hour prior to schedule departure time. I have travelled a lot and a good airline will expetide to catch your fligth. Pretty sad on behalf of Spirit Airlines. More over my inbound flight was late for three hours and I have to take that hardship also. I miss my ride to go and visit my parent on time. I have to incure some extra expenses which were in result on this delay. Customer service and customer handling was very very poor. Shame on this airline.

Spirit Airlines in Detroit, Michigan - Seat to close to each other

was on a flight from Tampa this weekend and was jammed into a seat and now i had huge bruises on the back of my legs from my seat, never again will i fly with this cheap flyer, a pop cost 3.00, paying for carry on, weight for luggage is 40 lbs, and when the person in front puts their seat back its right in your face, my knees were so jammed that i couldn't move my legs for over 2 hours and the bruises are very sore, the plane felt unsafe swirling on *** and landing, never again

On September 28 I arrived at the Metro Detroit airport with my aunt at 5:25 am for her 6:00 am flight I was was waiting in the line and got called I approached the service lady and said good morning we need to check in she was so quick to dismiss me and say self check in here is the monitor you got three ways to check in I pressed the monitor and entered my aunt's but it said you can not check in speak to service attendant and I told her so without looking up at me she said where is your flight to I said New York she said you can not go on this flight you missed it I said why its still half an hour and she said you have to be at the airport at least 2 hours before I said since when and where on a contract or on the ticket it says that? She said well it doesn't it they said it on the news and I asked what If you don't watch the news? She rolled her eyes and said um Internet ? I said what if I don't go on the Internet or even have a computer she looked straight at my aunt who wears a head scarf and who standing next to me and said I quote and as the following " Well since 9/11 and what these people did they said it everywhere" I was ragged at this point from her discriminatory comment and said you do not have to be like that! And say these things! That is not right ! I am just asking for help to get on this flight! And she just disregarded me and said "Next! Who's next in line" I was so angry and said somebody come help me because this lady is being soo rude ! Your employees name is Clemencia! And she will be slapped with a law suit from me! For saying this hurtful comment to my very humble aunt! Spirit airline this is an airport and you shouldn't employ racist people who can't deal with different nationalities and who discriminate!

No Alq not the whole country knows that you are suppose to board the plane two hours earlier besides that is not the point. Because she could have nicely told me so and I would have understood she did not have to be rude and throw hese comments.Besides you don't even know which country is my country Doug to know that you have went to it and say you recieved hate that you could not describe.The country I come from does not treat peopl hostily and with hate and nobody had commited a terrorist act. Who the heck arrives at a Metro airport 35 minutes before their flight??? You might not have to arrive 2 hours before your flight but come on now......

no one in their right mind would expect to arrive, check in,, get through security and board a plane after arriving at the airport 35 minutes before the flight! Sounds like you didn't plan accordingly.

WTH? Have you lost it? She could be just as much an American as you. And Alq, you ARE NOT required anymore to be at the airport 2 hours early before a flight.

You should really think before you type.

I just flew over the weekend and got there an hour before and did not have any issues at all. Regardless of everything else, the employee was unprofessional, rude and racist.

Spirit Airlines in Grawn, Michigan - Rude and charged for a bag that was free

Well this the last time me or any of my 15 employees will ever fly spirit airlines. The horrible gate person called "Cristal" who refused to give her last name (?) at Chicago (ORD). Charged me for a bag that clearly fit their new "personal item" size requirements! 12x16x14 But she charged it anyways, what really made it worse is that she wouldn't call a supervisor, and you're left with sucking it up!!!! To top it off customer service (in India) didn't help, or seem to care. Look like another company who doesn't give a rat's *** for customer satisfaction. I you can a flight on another airline for the same money (or $40 more) do it because they probrably will charge you $40 at the gate.

I dealt with the same people in INDIA....not spirit...a company that represents their sales....said the upgraded me to the BIG FRONT SEAT spirit doesn't have first or business class...charged me $460. We went to reserves seats and said we had to pay extra...took About 20 calls to India but didvget a refund....this is the only airline that flies into Atlantic City.....just not fair...they charge for everything...water is $2.50....wish we had a choice!

Spirit Airlines in Detroit, Michigan - Spirit Airline is the worst airline that I've ever flown

This is the worst airline that I've ever flown on. FEES for literally everything, checked a bag prior to boarding, yes a $50 fee, 3 lbs over their weight limit another $38 fee, then while boarding with a roller bag they docked me another check luggage fee $45 for a bag that 1) was able to fit in the overhead compartment and 2) I carried on the plane and put it in the bin myself. Plus not to mention, no complementary beverages or snacks. And to top it all off, their seats do not recline, so you're stuck in this upright position the entire flight time....So bottomline, what you don't pay for in the cost of a ticket, they get their money out of you in all kind of other miscellaneous fees. A true rip off with a bait and switch tactics!!! I will blog, twit, and continue to post about this dirty corrupt airline as long as feel is necessary. And being active military made no difference.... stay away from Spirit Airlines!

Spirit Airlines Made Us Miss Our Cruise

We booked our flight 2 months in advance leaving 1 day early 4/5/2012 to enjoy the sunshine before cruising and celebrating our Anniversary.The first flight engine went out we had to get a hotel and we had to pay for the room. Then the next day in Chicago and that flight was 1 1/2 hours delay which made us miss our BOAT they would not compensate us give us a voucher for another airline or anything to get to our destination so we can make our boat. Once we got to Ft Lauderdale and explained out situation to the airlines they still did not help us. We stayed in Florida for 2 more days for our flight back to Michigan and spent money for room and board that was not necessary
